Taboo. Uncomfortable. Challenging. These are labels often given to conversations that dare to disrupt the status quo. In this dynamic webinar, participants will engage in discussions and interact with resources that model strategies for leading these critical conversations and leave with action steps/tools to begin holding their own discussions that dare to disrupt.

        Kiana Foster-Mauro









Kiana Foster-Mauro is an educator, activist, and lifelong learner who is honored to serve as Connecticut’s 2024 State Teacher of the Year. A fourth-grade teacher at Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School in New London, Connecticut, Foster-Mauro is committed to empowering her students through culturally sustaining and human rights centered learning. 







Damayanti Rane-Castrodad is a bilingual Indian and Puerto Rican educator dedicated to culturally sustaining, identity-affirming teaching. As a fourth-grade educator at Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School in New London, Connecticut, she creates learning experiences that honor students’ identities and build self-love, social awareness, and empathy.
