NAME is reinforcing its commitment to
student voice and empowerment by hosting this Student
Diversity Leadership Day. Students in grades 9-12 who have
demonstrated a commitment to and/or leadership in diversity
and intergroup understanding are encouraged to share their experiences, network with other student leaders, and
receive training from
Urban Leadership Institute from Baltimore,
MD. Students will take part in interactive workshops designed
especially for them and attend general conference sessions. NAME
recognizes that in order to avoid misperceptions and
assumptions, and to truly understand the student experience, we
need the voices of students to be heard, recognized, and
respected. In this spirit, we welcome young people in grades
9-12 as part of this organization, this conference, and this work
toward equity and social justice.
Interested students need to register to
participate, and there may be a $45 fee involved to cover the cost
of lunch and conference materials. Please contact
Patricia Levroney for more information about this event at
ptlevro@k12.carr.org. Student Diversity Day is included in Package
A registration (high school students only), but you still
must contact Patricia if you plan to participate.
