14th Annual NAME International ConferenceNAME Student Diversity Leadership Day Facilitated by Storytellers, Inc. Honoring the tradition of the courageous African American youth who bravely stepped across schoolhouse thresholds and moved the national toward living the promise of equality, NAME invites diverse student leaders and activists to participate in the Student Leadership Diversity Day, Friday October 29, 2004. Students in grades 9-12 who have demonstrated interest, involvement or commitment to social activism will join together in a day of skill development and networking with like-minded youths and adults. Student-focused workshops on leadership and activism for justice and equity, and general conference sessions will be included in the day. Students will share experiences, gain skills, and develop action plans for application in their homes, schools and communities. They will learn how and where to find resources and assistance to help in achieving their goals. Storytellers, Inc. – a Kansas City youth leadership program – will assist in facilitating this inspiring and practical day. Interested students need to apply to participate. The
